Loose motions or say diarrhea, is considered when you have frequent watery stools which are watery and loose. It is very common and not so very serious until you see blood in stool or get hospitalized. As the summer starts, the possibilities of having loose motions get higher. Having watery bowel movement once or twice is common, and there is nothing to worry about this.
It happens due to some infection in the intestine, or you had an unhealthy food. It is just a body’s process to release toxins. It occurs when body’s fluid pass the intestines without getting absorbed, and because of this, electrolytes presented in the body get imbalanced which causes loose motions. The body excretes more fluid than usual that causes dehydration.
There are several reasons like food poisoning, lactose intolerance, overeating, malabsorption disorders and so. Sometimes they cure on own, and after running to the washroom two or three times, it stops. But if it doesn’t stop after that, it is necessary to treat it. Here are various natural remedies which will help to treat a loose motion and are safe.
ORS: Oral rehydration solution, it is recommended by the WHO to drink a glass filled with ORS every hour. ORS helps in combating the dehydration and stop the loose motion. The solution will keep your body hydrated and will balance the electrolyte also.
Banana: Bananas are recommended to eat this fruit to deal with loose motion. They are pulpy and starchy which helps to bind the stool. You can simply eat the banana or can mix it with yogurt.
Apple Cider Vinegar: It is also the best remedy to fight loose motions. ACV is rich in pectin and has some antibiotic properties which help to soothe the inflammation and eliminate the harmful bacteria that cause diarrhea while balancing the pH level in the stomach. In a glass of water add 1 tbs. ACV and drink it once a day.
Pomegranate: Another good remedy which will give relieve in loose motions. It has an astringent property which helps to break loose motions quickly. And drinking a glass of pomegranate juice will decrease the weakness and cure dehydration.
Fenugreek: They consist antibacterial and antifungal property due to the presence of high mucilage content. It is considered as one of the best home remedies. You can eat fenugreek seed in powdered form with yogurt or can eat seed alone with water.
Yogurt: Yogurt has some probiotic bacteria which can help to get rid of loose motions. The good bacteria presented in yogurt enter into the intestine and eradicating harmful bacteria. So, intake two bowls of yogurt daily.
Carrot: Carrot is another food which is enriched with pectin and cures loose motions. It will provide the essential nutrition to the body and help the body to recover quickly.
Orange: A peel of orange improves the digestive system because it enriched with pectin. In water add a fresh orange peel and boil it for 5 minutes. Strain it and then drink it. But make sure you wash the peel carefully as they are loaded with pesticide.
Chamomile Tea: Chamomile tea particular helps to release a pain and cure inflammation. It is a great tea that soothes the stomach and digestive system. Drink this tea once a day.
PsylliumSeed: They are rich in fiber and will hold the water stool by absorbing the excess fluid in the intestine. Mix 1 tbs. of seed wit 1 glass of water and drink it.
Ginger: Ginger can get you rid of the cramps and stomach pain. You can drink a ginger tea twice a day to treat watery stools or can grate it and take it with one tbs. of honey.
Brown Rice: Ditch the white rice. It has Vitamin B which helps to give relief in loose motions. Also, they’re very beneficial when it comes to flush the toxins from the system.
